Well, Thx CA you got the band right .... Nice work.
This is the band Zero One... The drummer Gordy Paton and Frank Zirone started this band in the 80's, they got signed to Anthem, opened for Rush, Saga, Triumph etc, but they never really got a break. The song "You're on my Radio" did become fairly popular in Canada.
So the break down was this ...
ZERO ONE :
Frank Zirone (lead vocals)
Gord Paton(drums)
Keith Ross (guitar)
Jim MacDonald (keyboards)
Gary Lalonde (bass)
Jim Elder (bass; replaced Lalonde)
Formed in 1979, Frank Zirone's Zero One, were signed to Anthem Records in 1980 and released their self-titled debut that year.
"You're On My Radio" was released as the only single, but "Invisible Man" and "You're On Your Own" received considerable airplay on radio stations as well. Like CFNY, CHUM FM and Q107.
Under the management of Michael Cohl(later of CPI), Ray Danniels (SRO Management) and Ron Dabous, they also managed two live radio broadcasts in Toronto - one on CHUM-FM and the other on Q107-FM.
Lalonde left to join Honeymoon Suite. The band carried on with Elder throughout the Toronto club scene until their demise in 1982.
Zirone would then go on to form the band Hanover Fist. Rock on !
So thank you all for searching. Now to try and get this on Vinyl ...
