Technobabble: holy smokes,science-fiction has been obsoleted

I was having a quick breeze thru the Electronic Design RSS feed when I saw this :
http://electronicdesign.com/iot/jewel-joule
Holy smokes, a computer module at least as powerful as the last high-end Dell laptop I owned, all in a module the size of a USB thumb drive. Wow. For the folks looking at and playing with Arduino or Raspberry-Pi systems, this is a mind-blower. But for a price. This ups the ante from under $100 to over $300...
The bits and pieces required to connect this jewel to real-world human interfaces (connectors for keyboard, monitors, etc) are waaay bigger than the computer itself. And, it's Intel x86.
Scotty.... , Mr. Spock, .... your Tricorders and Communicators are obsolete.
