David Marsden is one of Canada's most influential broadcasters and an originator of free-form broadcasting. An initial purveyor of Internet radio and one of a few Canadians to be recognized twice at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, he has the distinction of being the subject of a dedicated chapter in Marshall McLuhan's book, "Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man," a pioneering study in media theory. With an incredible career spanning 50 years, Marsden's unrivaled contributions to broadcasting were honoured with the Allan Waters Broadcast Lifetime Achievement Award during his induction to the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Canadian Radio Music Awards.
